What I think about

Ideas I keep coming back to — shaped by a decade across government, philanthropy, and finance.

🧠

AI Fluency > AI Tools

The real competitive advantage isn't buying the best AI tools — it's building an organization that speaks the language of AI.

Any company can buy the same tools. But a workforce that understands AI's capabilities — that can identify opportunities vendors never designed tools to find — is a moat that compounds. I've seen it firsthand: when you teach people to think with AI, they stop asking "can AI help?" and start asking "how can I reshape this entire process?" That's the shift.

Adoption Is a Design Problem

98% voluntary adoption didn't happen because the technology was good. It happened because the rollout was designed for humans.

Most AI rollouts fail not because the tech doesn't work, but because the change management is an afterthought. Sector-specific training, power user office hours, internal roadshows, prompt libraries — every touchpoint was designed to meet people where they were. The technology is the easy part. The human part is the hard part, and that's where I live.

Governance Enables Speed

The organizations moving fastest with AI aren't the ones with no guardrails — they're the ones with smart guardrails.

Building governance frameworks in partnership with legal counsel and compliance was one of the most important parts of the AI rollout. Counterintuitively, those frameworks didn't slow us down — they gave leadership the confidence to go faster. When people trust the system, they use it more boldly. Governance isn't the brakes; it's the steering.

How I Work

The playbook behind the results.

01

Listen First

Before building anything, understand the real problem. Map stakeholders, identify friction, and find where people are today — not where you assume they are.

02

Build to Learn

Ship fast, iterate faster. Pilot programs, measure what works, and let real usage data — not assumptions — drive the roadmap.

03

Design for Adoption

Technology without adoption is just an expense. Design every rollout for the humans who'll use it — training, governance, and trust built in from day one.

Work in Action

Real examples of what I've built, led, and transformed.

Operational Scaling

Summit Trail Advisors

As COO, led operational transformation for the largest revenue-generating advisory team. Helped scale the Central Planning Team, contributed to the multi-year roadmap, designed pricing models, and managed a growing team.

M&A Execution

Bloomberg LP Acquisition at Geller

Led Human Capital and Technology workstreams for the Bloomberg LP acquisition — managed information flow, scenario planning, and deal execution. Produced board materials and management presentations throughout the process.

Building Fluency, Not Buying Tools

The real strategic question isn't "which AI tools should we buy?" — it's "how do we build an organization that can leverage AI as a capability, not just a feature?"

Buying Tools

  • Renting someone else's intelligence
  • Dependent on vendors for updates and problem-solving
  • Essentially getting better calculators
  • When markets shift, stuck waiting for vendors to catch up

Building Fluency

  • Internal capability that adapts in real-time
  • People become co-creators, not just users
  • Identifies opportunities vendors never designed tools to find
  • Sustainable competitive advantage that compounds
"The shift is not just about getting the tools into people's hands to solve their immediate problem — it's about teaching them how to use a new language. Once they have the fluency, they can tell us what the most impactful tools need to be."

The person behind the pitch

I grew up in Reno, Nevada — one of five kids in a blended family, surrounded by the Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and the kind of outdoors that teaches you to figure things out on your own. I played volleyball for years — high school and a club team in Northern California — before trading the court for a work schedule that started at 15: first a paint-your-own pottery studio, then a preschool classroom to pay my way through college at UNR — where I majored in Political Science and minored in Cultural Anthropology — with a stint as a certified ski and snowboard technician up at Tahoe mixed in.

In college, I interned for a U.S. Senator while moonlighting as a paralegal and private bookkeeper for litigators and individuals navigating the healthcare system. I presented research on "The Effect of Institutional Characteristics of Public Support for National Legislatures" at the Western Political Science Association conference in Hollywood. I was also in a sorority. The range started early.

That through-line — learning fast, translating between worlds, doing the work nobody else wants to do — carried me from the Senate floor to Melinda French Gates' office to Wall Street to leading the AI transformation at a boutique investment bank. I'm a lifelong learner: every new chapter has been an excuse to go deep on something I didn't know yet, and that curiosity is what makes me good at what I do. What drives me isn't the technology itself. It's the moment someone goes from skeptical to "wait, this changes everything." I've watched that happen 750+ times at Perella Weinberg, and it never gets old.

I may live in New York now, but nature is still a huge part of my life, with the best parts of my week spent in the parks with Farley, my 80-pound goldendoodle. When I'm not walking him, I'm reading, researching, spending time with friends, thinking about what the world will look like in five years, and browsing real estate upstate for a little country cottage with a bit of land.
